Graduated in 2013.
Speech therapist graduated in 2013, working primarily in pediatrics with children with neurological needs, language difficulties, speech disorders and voice alterations. I am specially trained to work the myofunctional area for the adequate control of orofacial musculature for phonation, swallowing and respiratory activities all of which can affect proper speech and communication.
I also have experience in treating the adult population with voice problems caused by over use stress, poor speaking habits, vocal cord paralysis, dysphonia (defective use of voice) and aphonic (loss of voice). I work with patients who have had cerebral injury who have lost the ability for expressive oral language and or written skills and who have swallowing difficulties. Working with the older population also involves treating neurodegenerative diseases, cognitive deterioration and muscle control issues due to paralysis affecting language.
